how long does it take for zithromax to cure mild pnemonia?
I was put on zithromax for pneumonia (walking pneumonia I think because shortness of breath and burping are the only symptoms I have, xrays said it was pneumonia). How long should it take till I’m breathing normally again? It’s scary because if I sleep on my back I wake up from not getting enough air.

There is nothing scarier than not being able to get your air. Zithromax is a wonderful medicine, and the drug of choice for this type of pneumonia. You shouldn’t be laying on your back without your head elevated somewhat. Gravity works against you when you lie flat. Don’t do it.

Pneumonia is fluid in the lungs. You need to actively try to cough and deep breathe while awake, to help your lungs clear the fluid and crud. It’s painful, I know but MAKE YOURSELF DO IT, at least 5-8 times every hour while you are awake. Do it slowly, and deeply.

You asked how long you should take it? Take it until the medicine is completely gone and then check with your physician if you aren’t better, as it will be up to him if you need more.

When the bacteria starts to die, it will spill toxins into the blood which will cause your temp to spike. This is another reason why you don’t skip doses. Ask your doctor if you can take some Tylenol to help you be more comfortable when that happens.

You need to stay hydrated as your blood is mostly water and a high fever can have implications on vital organs when one is dehydrated, as the blood carries vital nutrients for organ function.

Don’t hesitate to contact your doctor if you find you aren’t better in a week or so. HOWEVER, it can take WEEKS before you are as strong and up to speed so rest when you can and don’t skip any doses of your Zithromax. And don’t push yourself doing tasks when you are that sick. It is a mistake.

One side effect of Zithromax is a “metalic taste”. This is normal and temporary.

Take care of yourself.

Most doctors tend to recommend drugs that are new to the market. On the downside, these medicines are rather costly and aren’t any better than the ones available in stores. Patients restricted by a tight budget must ask their physician for a generic alternative. Generic prescription drugs are charged at a lower price but have the same use and main components as their brand-name equivalent.
There are certain establishments that market cheap generic drugs.
Here are several of the recommended places to obtain medicines without giving up too much from your finances.
1. Rite-Aid, Walgreen’s, or CVS Pharmacy. These organizations have discount generics programs. Regular buyers or present members can easily sign up for a savings pass. Registering only costs $ 10 a year for CVS while a Walgreen membership fee costs $ 20.
2. Online Canadian pharmacies- Many online pharmacies offer unbelievably affordable prices for generics. Some of these businesses say they are working in Canada. Unfortunately, many of these are frauds and are probably operating in developing nations.
If you decide to buy online, purchase only from sites that have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Web drugstores that are not approved by the FDA typically deliver fake pills that have no effect or entirely compromise one’s health. You can also refer to online pharmacy reviews, which are sent by past or present customers. Though ordering cheap medicine online is easy, ordering from a scam pharmacy will just waste your cash or even worsen your condition. Also some Canadian Pharmacies with affordable prices.

There are few online pharmacies that offer “Medications, Prescription Pills”

Keflex is an anti bacterial that’s onset is about in an hour or two. So its job is to keep the infection down but it wont be doing anything for the pain unfortanutly. That’s what the Tylenol is for. The fever is typical because thats your body’s way of also fighting off the infection. Thats actually a good sign. But if your pain feels like a 4 out of a 10 then you should call your doctor and see if they can’t prescribe you something mild. All of this will be over in about a weak or two. Just hang in there 🙂

My dad is taking Amlodipine, Losartan and Bisoprolol for more than 5 years now, and has almost never had high blood pressure in that time.
Keep in mind that healthy diet is also recommended. Taking a multivitamin and fish oil for the omega 3, (even though walnuts or flax seed are also fine) can be helpful as well.
Another calcium channel blocker is Aranidipine.
