d’Oliveira & Associates, P.C. Now Offers No Win No Fee Promise In Celexa Cases

(PRWEB) November 04, 2012

The law offices of dOliveira & Associates currently are seeking clients who have been injured by the use of Celexa. dOliveira is offering a no win, no fee guarantee to those injured and their families; meaning that you dont pay, unless a settlement is successfully negotiated , or the case is won at trial.

Approved by the FDA in 1999 and manufactured by Forest Laboratories, Celexa is an antidepressant in the class of drugs known as selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs. Celexa is used to treat depression and anxiety in adults. Other drugs in the SSRI class include Zoloft, Paxil, and Lexapro.

The problem with Celexa (and all SSRIs) is that, when taken during pregnancy, they substantially increase an unborn childs risk for certain birth defects. These birth defects include:

-Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn (PPHN)

-Heart murmurs

-Aortic Stenosis

-Cleft lip

-Cleft Palate

-Asperger Syndrome

-Rett Syndrome

The United States Food and Drug Administration has taken note of these risks and classified Celexa, as well as other SSRIs, as a drug that is potentially harmful to a fetus, if taken during pregnancy. This classification has only added further credibility to the claims of families whose children have suffered birth defects after the mother took Celexa during pregnancy. The manufacturers of SSRIs are currently facing numerous lawsuits concerning the claims of such families.

The attorneys at dOliveira & Associates urge any one who has suffered from the use of Celexa to contact them immediately. They are working with some of the leading dangerous drug lawyers in the country who are handling these cases. They want to ensure that all potential Celexa clients understand that there is absolutely no fee unless a settlement is reached, or an award is won.

New Lawsuit on Babys Death Allegedly from Paxil

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) November 09, 2012

The media spotlight is often a double-edged sword. No one knows this better than Scott and Leigh Remsburg and people who suffer from Paxil Side Effects.

According to court documents, on October 19th, 2012, Scott and Leigh Remsburg filed a lawsuit in Pennsylvania Eastern District Court (case no. 2:2012cv05962) alleging their baby daughter died as a result of heart birth defects caused by her mothers use of Paxil and Zoloft during pregnancy. Paxil (paroxetine), produced by GlaxoSmithKline and approved in 1992 by the FDA, is an antidepressant drug belonging to a group called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). In the lawsuit, Scott and Leigh Remsburg mention that their baby girl was born in February 2005 with cardiac anomalies as a result of her mothers use of Paxil and Zoloft during pregnancy. The baby died a few days later from atrial and ventricular septal defects and congestive heart failure.

In January 2012, the British Medical Journal published a study revealing that selective SSRIs, including Paxil, are linked to pulmonary hypertension in newborns (PPHN) of mothers who took them during pregnancy.

In cases of severe adverse events from Paxil like the above, AttorneyOne.com, a recognized authority on law, can provide helpful advice and simple solutions including how to get in contact with legal counsel so that someone can easily and inexpensively deal with it. As Mr. Burke, director of Media Relations for AttorneyOne.com, added, What all this information and the lawsuit really illustrate is that alleged threat from Paxil remains. For that reason, our focus should squarely fall on getting the word out and assisting people in finding the right legal assistance.

A study, published in the July 2012 issue of Archives of General Psychiatry, revealed that serotonin reuptake inhibitors use (including Paxil) during pregnancy increases risk of reduced infant head size and preterm birth.

AttorneyOne.com has further information on Paxil lawsuits including how to get in contact with legal counsel.

As Zoloft Lawsuits Mount, New Study Ties Zoloft and Other SSRI Antidepressants to Higher Risk of Bleeding in Warfarin Users

New York, New York (PRWEB) November 11, 2012

As Zoloft lawsuits continue to move forward, a new study has found evidence that warfarin patients who also take Zoloft and other selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressants may face an increased risk of bleeding, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. According to the study, which was presented at the American Heart Associations annual meeting, there was a 60 percent higher risk of major hemorrhage in patients that were taking SSRI antidepressants, like Zoloft, and warfarin, compared to those who werent taking an SSRI.*

The study looked at medical records from 13,000 atrial fibrillation patients, 9,200 of whom were being treated with warfarin. The warfarin patients were divided into three groups: those who were taking no antidepressants, patients who were taking SSRIs and patients who were taking older tricyclic antidepressants According to the study authors, there was no statistically significant difference in bleeding risk in those patients taking tricyclic antidepressants and warfarin.

This study is just further evidence of the serious risks that sometimes accompany the use of Zoloft and other SSRI antidepressants, says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The firm is currently offering free Zoloft lawsuit consultations to victims of birth defects and other alleged Zoloft side effects.

Zoloft Lawsuits

Zoloft is an SSRI antidepressant marketed by Pfizer Inc. that is used to treat major depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, and anxiety disorders. In April 2012, the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation transferred all federally-filed Zoloft lawsuits to the U.S. District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania as part of a consolidated litigation entitled In Re: Zoloft (Sertraline Hydrochloride) Products Liability Litigation (MDL 2342). All of the Zoloft lawsuits pending in the litigation involve allegations that the antidepressant causes birth defects in children when their mothers ingest the drug while pregnant. According to Pretrial Order No. 10, U.S. District Judge Cynthia Rufe has scheduled the Zoloft litigations next status conference for November 19th.**

Victims of alleged Zoloft side effects may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and more.
