I have a 19 month old boy who is biracial with eczema, well he is having these big red spots on his legs.?
The red spots look like mosquito bites but they are not. They just appeared out of nowhere. I am looking for answers is there any body that may have been through this before…oh yeah they seemed to be itchy to him too……..and his eczema has not appeared in a while ……

My daughter had the same thing when she was five…psoriasis. The small, mosquito looking bites turn into patches of dry skin, red underneath and white, flaky skin on top. best bet is to take him to a dermatologist. try this link

Good Luck
P.S. Eczema and psoriasis fall in the same catagory of skin diseases

when i was little i had eczema too, except it was on the bottom of my feet . my mom took me to a dermitoligist and he perscribed some cordizone cream. rub it onto his legs before he goes to sleep and when he wakes up EVERY DAY. using the cream, eczema should clear up within a week or two. to be on the safe side, i would continue use for at least a week after its gone.

p.s just to warn you, when you apply the cream, it may sting slightly, so when you apply it be prepared to blow on the area it was applied

Probably just a new manifestation of the eczema which can take on many types of appearance. See a dermatologist to know for sure.

I remember my brother having this growing up… he also had phases of eczema. However like you said he would get these red spots like rashes, only it was on his chest, back, and around the lower part of his feet… and it wasn’t like his eczema because it was very itchy and bright red like bug bites. He tried everything and the only thing that would soothe his itchy pain was Calamine Lotion… I’d buy it by the bottle and soak him in it, that at least took the pain away.

Have you thought of calling his baby doctor? Give him a call. You don’t want those places getting infective.

Have you ever heard of or tried Arbonne’s products for babies? I have a friend whose son suffers and says it’s the only item to help.
Check with your doctor too.

My daughter, (also biracial, not that I think it matters) is 10 and has had atopic dermatitis (a form of eczema) since she was 3 months old. I can’t tell you how many Dr’s (allergists, dermatologists, pediatricians, etc) I have taken her to over the years, recently she got so bad the pediatrician took me aside and was crying, she said she’s never seen a case this bad. Since then I’ve started seeing a UCLA Dr. and this is the first time I can remember in a very long time that her skin looks good. Unfortunately, she is on steriod cream and I know from experience, the benefits are short term. I have spent thousands of hours researching this on the internet and tried thousand of remedies to no avail. I have tried everything here on this website that people recommend but nothing has worked. I have changed her diet, taken all the carpet out of my house, switched laundry detergent, soaps etc, covered all the beds with protective covers. I have used, ellidel, elocon, protopic, cortizone, futicosoid, aveeno, calendula, emu oil, guava leaves, etc etc etc. Almost everything works for a little while and I get my hopes up then when her body builds up an immunity to it the eczema comes back. I do better just switching from one thing to the next. The newest thing that seems to be working is called Derma Smoothe, it seems to be working well but I don’t want to get my hopes up too much anymore. My daughter is also severely allergic to all nuts, milk , eggs and every antibiotic we have tried on her so far. Those red spots are part of the eczema, it will change its form and locations from time to time. I would first get him to an allergist to get him tested for food allergies, there is a blood test they can do now that will tell. Have him tested for the common allergens which are Peanuts, Milk, Soy, Wheat, Eggs, I think thats most of them. The blood test is not exact but will give you a pretty good idea if he is highly allergic to something. I do not recommend the skin test especially at his age. My daughter had it at 3 years old and it was pretty traumatic and all it told me was that she was highly allergic to pollens and weeds and trees which I can’t do a whole lot about anyway. The blood test is not so easy either but not nearly as traumatic since its quick. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully its just something he’s eating and reacting to rather than a long term thing. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.
