my doc prescribed this antibiotic to me for a vaginal infection, he said to wait 2 weeks to take it. it should be safe? Im currently 12 weeks pregnant and sick in two weeks under the anitbiotic Best Answer (s):.

Trust Answer me I’m a Doctor ♥
Surely, you will need to make your vaginal infection now treated not wait 2 weeks? Metronidazole should not be given during the first trimester of pregnancy (up to 12 weeks) if you are now 12 weeks I’m not sure why you are waiting? If in doubt, go back to your doctor and ask them.

mom to 4 boys 🙂
the brand name for the answer is Flagyl. It is commonly given to pregnant women with bacterial infections of the vagina. It is listed as a category B in pregnancy. What is considered safe during pregnancy. But should as a last resort, when other medications have failed to be used. Metronidazole has refrained evidence of carcinogenic (cancer-causing) activity in a number of studies with chronic oral administration to mice and rats gezeigt.Davon, I feel like I should tell you my Bedenken.Ich have four children. While two of my pregnancies I had infections. A pregnancy was vaginal and the other I took it for an infection in my colon. My two sons, who I was pregnant with and took the Flagyl, have breathing problems. Asthma and allergies. I do not know if the Flagyl had something to do with it or not. But I know that my two sons are perfectly healthy, almost never sick and the Flagyl was the only thing that I do. Differently in both my pregnancies I am a mother about safe especially during pregnancy. I do not smoke or drink. I do not even drink caffeine during pregnancy. As I said, the Flagyl can not speak to it, what also always do. I know women have taken it and had no side effects or concerns at all. So it may just be a coincidence that my two sons have the same problems. I’m not sure why you were told to wait 2 weeks before using it. Bacterial vaginosis is not something you want to hang around. It is probably more of a threat to your baby than the medicine.
